GREAT trip to Cape Henlopen this weekend! Paddled from the Delaware Bay into the Atlantic Ocean (3 1/2 miles total), checking out a lighthouse, watching the Cape May-Lewes Ferry, and finding some dolphins on the way. Afterwards, there was hiking, climbing a WWII observation tower, checking out the gun emplacements at Fort Miles, and a rousing game of Ultimate Frisbee. Sunday morning, most of the troop stopped by to take a quick look at the lightship in Lewes, but ended up with the full tour even before the place officially opened thanks to some of the super nice, awesome guides there (http://www.overfalls.org/). While this was our first time camping out at Cape Henlopen, I’m sure that it won’t be our last.

BIG thank yous to the Chiassons and Gillespies for booking the campsites and kayaks, and of course to Paul and Paul for spending the weekend helping with the trip.
