Once again, congrats to our newest Eagle Scouts #107, 108, and 109 – Sean “Jiff” Gillespie, Karanveer “K.P.” Pannu, and Dan “Danny” Smith. All of your hard work and dedication has paid off!
Congratulations to Mr. Danny Smith, who completed his Eagle Scout rank tonight! Danny is our 110th Eagle Scout.
Danny’s Eagle Project was to plant trees and help with an updated, media-heavy phone tour of Batsto. He served just about every leadership position in the troop from “the only kid who listens (thanks Danny Ballas)” to Assistant Patrol Leader to Assistant Senior Patrol Leader to Senior Patrol Leader to Junior Assistant Scoutmaster, as well as Scribe and Webmaster on the side. He has been a big part of helping to revitalize the Troop, especially on the high adventure end of things.
Danny, we couldn’t be prouder of you. Congrats!
Congrats to Karanveer “K.P.” Pannu and Sean “Jif” Gillespie for finishing their journeys to Scouting’s highest rank – Eagle Scout. The troop couldn’t be prouder of the work that these two young men have done! Great job guys!

You might be asking yourself, where is this Eagle Project of Danny Smith?
Well, it is in the great historical village of Batsto!
What will we be doing?
We will be planting trees, about 10 of them, and we will be replacing the current phone tour around the village with a new QR code tour.
What do you need?
I would recommend bringing some clothes you don’t mind using in gardening situations. Food and beverages will be provided, but a personal water bottle is a good suggestions as you may be a farther walk than you feel like walking for some refreshment.

The troop would like to congratulate our newest Eagle Scout, Erik Lee. He passed his board of review last night with flying colors. Erik constructed a new exercise yard for the Animal Orphanage in Voorhees for his Eagle Scout project. He now joins Kamran Naidoo, Paul Iacovonni, and Steven Hale in receiving their Eagle Scout Awards at a ceremony sometime in June.
Our heartiest congratulations to Troop 48’s newest Eagle Scout – Steven Hale – who passed his Eagle Board. Steven has been a very active Scout with us for the last seven years, and currently serves as a Junior Assistant Scoutmaster. For his Eagle Project, Steven painted the victorian porch at the Evesham Historical Society, as well as repairing and repainting the old butcher shop on the property.

This was a big week for Steven, as he was also accepted into Rutgers this week.
Again, congratulations and best of luck in the future!
I’d like to extend my congratulations to Paul Iacovonni, Troop 48’s newest Eagle Scout.
Paul passed his Eagle Board of Review last night. Paul’s been an important part of Troop 48 the last few years, helping a large number of our younger Scouts work their way through their rank advancements. For his project, he repainted the Long-a-Coming Historical Society at the historic Berlin Train Station.
The time has come, as it does every year, for the beginning of the Troop 48 Super Bowl Hoagie Sale!
The hoagie sale for those who are new to this, is a major fundraiser for the troop. During hoagie sale season, all scouts spread out far and wide to gather orders for hoagies on Super Bowl Sunday, which this year is, February 5th. For each order an order form must be filled out and the money must be taken upon the placement of the order, not the when the hoagies are delivered.
On the morning of Super Bowl Sunday, we will all meet to build all the hoagies ordered. By around 11 in the morning we will finish up and the scouts can go out and deliver their hoagies.
The proceeds from this fundraiser will continue to help keep down the costs of trips and allow for new and replacement equipment to be bought for the patrols, but it’s success relies on your participation so go sell some hoagies!
