Fort Washington State Park
Troop 48’s Time at Fort Washington by Magnus P.
December 13-15, 2013
It was very cold. There was a ton of snow there, and everyone could not wait to get things going. We all could predict that this camping trip would be an awesome one, even if there were some minor problems. Some of us got to dance on the ice while two other scouts were playing hockey with Mr. Banana. After we did all of that, we got to go sledding. And if you ask me, I believe that that is most scouts favorite part of the trip. The time sledding was the best. There were all kinds of sleds there. There was a shovel sled, a Flexible Flyer, and a few others that were extremely fun to ride on. We got some nice pictures of us sledding down on whatever we felt like sledding in. That time was just amazing, especially when a bald eagle was flying overhead. We even skipped the hike just for all of the sledding! Anyway, that’s not the only fun activity we did there. We even got to have a snowball war. That was also really fun, especially when you’re just pelting every enemy you see with snowballs. Anyway, after a long, but fun time, we couldn't wait to crawl into our tents and go to sleep. But some of us decided to sled. AGAIN. But sadly the next morning, we had to leave that amazing campsite and go home. But we weren't the only ones who didn't want us to leave. It rained, and the temperatures dropped below freezing and our tents were caked in ice. And when we tried to pack up, our things were frozen to the tables. And that’s what happened when Troop 48 went to Fort Washington.
