In the spirit of “Be Prepared”, Troop 48 held an emergency drill two weeks ago. Notification was sent out via our text message system of the time and place to meet in Berlin, giving twenty minutes warning. Fifteen Scouts and numerous adults responded to the assigned location (the Berlin Historical Society).
The Boy Scouts have a long history of helping with disaster relief in all corners of the United States. Were Berlin to be struck by a disaster, Troop 48 will be mobilized to help with the relief efforts. This practice drill was one step in making sure that we are ready if, God forbid, disaster was ever to strike the town.
