Eagle Court of Honor recognizing Tim Smith and Bryan “Skippy” Gillespie for earning their Eagle Scout rank! Great job guys, we’re very proud of you!
The Berlin Sun carried an article on the Berlin VFW and Troop 48 placing flags at Berlin Cemetery on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend.
Thank you to Kristen for the great write up! The article can be found here!
“As riders weave their way toward the waves in this year’s Bike MS: City to Shore, they may come across an oasis of Gatorade and protein bars.
Troop 48 Boy Scouts are reprising their services at the Century Loop rest stop in Mullica Township on Saturday, Sept. 23, which is the only break along the 20-mile detour, designed for bikers attempting the 100-mile route, the longest of the four projected paths.
The Berlin-based troop has been working the bike ride rest stops for nearly 15 years, continually welcomed back by this fundraiser for multiple sclerosis research.”
Thank you to the Berlin Sun for a great article!
One of our Scouts went to help out at the Hidden Lake Cleanup for the South Jersey Land & Water Trust on Saturday! They hold cleanups in various locations once each month. This is a GREAT way to get the Conservation Service Hours that Scouts now need for Life, or just a great way to help nature out for a few hours.
Our September issue of Trails of Troop 48 is available! Enjoy our Back-to-Scouts issue with articles on the Summer Trip and on Vinny and Chase making Eagle!
If you’d like to write an article, draw a cartoon, or contribute a game or puzzle, the deadline for our next issue is Friday, September 29th! Just email any contributions to Mike!
Another Summer Trip in the books! Troop 48 went up to Ten Mile River this August, where the Scouts spent a week camping on the Delaware River. While there, they took on a high ropes course, rode horses, paddled on an overnight canoe trip, and raced go carts!
A new year in Scouting starts up in just two weeks!
Congratulations to Vinny Teti for completing his Eagle Scout Board of Review last night! Vinny’s project was to completely overhaul the veterans monuments area at the Barrington Municipal Building. He put in a new brick patio, moved the flagpoles to center them, redid much of the gardening, put in new benches, and cleaned up the monuments. Huge project to take on, and it looks great now.
For those keeping score at home, Vinny becomes the 122nd Eagle Scout in Troop 48 history!
I and we are all very proud of you and your accomplishments Vinny!
