10 miles – Batona Trail

This hike was a day hike. We started early at 7 AM. The weather was a cool, Fall day. A small group of scouts left basecamp and set off on a 10 mile hike. We followed the Batona Trail. It was a very flat hike. Some of the trail went along a highway. During the hike, we crossed Atsion Lake. I got blisters the size of half dollars because my feet were too big for my boots. At the half-way turn around, Gary made me stop because of my blisters. Several other scouts stopped as well such as Griffin and Brandon. My dad, Sam Strader, and my brother Tim completed the full 20 miles.
