Columbus Day weekend, Troop 48 headed out to Pennsylvania. On Saturday, we biked 23 miles on the Schulkyll River Trail!
After that, we visited the Honor Grove in Valley Forge, where each state has a monument listing its members who have received the Congressional Medal of Honor.
That night, it was dinner and a campfire.
Sunday morning, we explored the National Historical Park at Valley Forge.
Had a great first trip of the year back in September!
Saturday and Sunday, the Scouts spent 10 1/2 hours handing out water and snacks to the bikers doing 150 miles for the MS City-to-Shore Bike Ride.
Saturday night, the Scouts hit the boardwalk at Ocean City.
Congrats to Magnus for biking 175 miles this weekend and raising over $1000 for the MS Society!
Troop 48 spent the weekend helping out with one of the largest charity bike rides in the country – the Bike MS: City-to-Shore Ride. Each year, bikers ride from Cherry Hill to Ocean City, raising millions of dollars for Multiple Sclerosis research.
This year, 14 Scouts and 9 adults volunteered. We spent Saturday at the “Century Loop” stop at the Sweetwater Fire Company passing out food and drinks and cheering on riders attempting to go 100 miles in one day.
Afterwards, it was on to Ocean City for a fun night on the boardwalk.
After camping out again Saturday night in Mays Landing, it was back to work on Sunday morning at the Hammonton Rest Stop.
The Scouts did a great job, thank you to everyone for all the hard work!

Congrats to Magnus on completing his Eagle Board of Review tonight. Magnus becomes Troop 48’s 126th Eagle Scout!

Had a great time sea kayaking at Cape Henlopen in Delaware earlier this month! Had to battle some unhelpful breezes, but it was an adventure!
