Congratulations are in order to Sherveer, who passed his Eagle Board of Review tonight! Sherveer becomes Troop 48’s 114th Eagle Scout!
His project was at Acorn Hill Lake over the summer, where the benches were repaired and repainted, the neighborhood signs were replaced and lit, and the gardening was spruced up.
This is a pretty good couple of months for Sherveer, who (with his brother) was the first Scout in the country to earn the brand new Sikh Religious Award and who just completed his third 50 miler earlier this month.
Congrats again, we’re all very proud of you!
Hello everyone! Summer is almost over, and that means the beginning of a new Scout year! Scouts, make sure that you are at the meeting on Wednesday, September 3, as the Scouts will be forming new patrols, electing their patrol leaders, and choosing their leadership! These patrols will be together until the patrol decides otherwise (could be four weeks, could be four years!), so it’s important that you don’t miss this meeting!
Don’t foget to register for the MS 150 as well! Directions were sent out via e-mail on how to register!
Just wrapped up a great summer trip! Whitewater rafting, hiking in Mohawk Trail State Forest, a zip line course, a trip to Boston, and a 50 mile backpacking trip on the Appalachian Trail from Straton, Vermont to Mt. Greylock, Massachusetts… this is one that no one will soon forget!
Pictures up in a few weeks when I have a chance to gather and sort them!
Great time in Worthington State Forest and the Delaware Water Gap this weekend! The base camp crew of 6 did a strenous hike up to Sunfish Pond Saturday. The backpacker crew of five hiked up to the backpacker site Friday night (arriving at the top of the mountain at midnight), did 12 miles down to the Mohican Outdoor Center Saturday (running into several thru-hikers), and then came off the trail this morning into camp.
Two weeks left until the summer trip!
Our annual BBQ and Swim Day was a rousing success! The Scouts had a blast eating food, playing Gaga ball, losing to me at tetherball, splashing around in the lake, and eating more food!
Many thanks to Deb Sperling for organizing the day, to everyone who pitched in cooking, gathering supplies, etc, and most especially to Fellowship Alliance Church for putting up with us! Until next year!
Congrats to our new Senior Patrol Leader – Skippy! He will officially take office in September! Stay turned for more details in the changes in the patrol system starting in September!
Thanks to all the Scouts who came out to help with this year’s Memorial Day Flag placement at Berlin Cemetary! We had a great turnout and were done in record time!
Also thanks to the Berlin VFW for treating us to to hot dogs for lunch afterwards!
Thanks to everyone who helped out at shed day! The landscaping and paint inside look great! We’ll have another day soon so that the patrols can paint their shelves and we can keep plugging away at the outside of the shed.
New sign is coming along great too!
Many thanks to Dambly’s Garden Center for donating the mulch! – http://www.damblysgardencenter.com/
Thank you to everyone who helped make our Eagle Court of Honor on May 4 such a success! Special thank you to Lodge 548 – Loyal Order of Moose (Lindenwold) for hosting us and Mr. Dan MacDonnell for graciously agreeing to be our guest speaker! Congrats again to Greg, Nick, and Ethan!
Congrats to Ethan for passing his Eagle Scout Board of Review tonight!
Ethan’s project was refurbishing a dog walk trail, fixing a cemetery fence, and building a bench at the Animal Welfare in Voorhees. For those that missed the project, check out the Trip Log for August 2013!
Ethan becomes Troop 48’s 114th Eagle Scout.
We’re all very proud of your accomplishment Ethan!
